Deep In The Heart Of Pelham: Elementary Schools Raise $25K For AHA

Fourth and fifth graders across all four elementary schools in Pelham combined to raise more than $25,000 for the American Heart Association through the annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.

Each year, the schools’ physical education teachers organize the event, in which students collect sponsors and donations before jumping rope to raise funds and awareness. 

The money that is raised goes to help children with heart-health issues.

In addition to the fundraiser, the students develop healthy habits and learn about the value of community service, according to school officials.
